Neuropeptide FF Receptor 1 (NPFFR1)

GPR147; NPFF1; NPFF1R1; G Protein-Coupled Receptor 147; RFamide-related peptide receptor OT7T022

Neuropeptide FF Receptor 1 (NPFFR1)
NPFF1 were activated by neuropeptide FF (NPFF) in several heterologous expression systems when coexpressed with a chimeric G-alpha G protein. Activation led to intracellular Ca(2+) mobilization in a concentration dependent manner. The binding domain of the receptor recognized the C-terminal arg-phe-amide of NPFF.
The deduced rat and human receptors contain 432 and 430 amino acids, respectively, and share 87% sequence identity. Radiolabeled rat brain slices revealed the highest density of NPFF1 binding sites in the lateral septum, anterodorsal thalamic nucleus, and superior colliculus.
