Organic Solute Carrier Partner 1 (OSCP1)

NOR1; C1orf102; Oxidored Nitro Domain Containing Protein

Organic Solute Carrier Partner 1 (OSCP1)
By cDNA array screening, Nie et al. (2003) identified a transcript that was downregulated in the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line HNE-1 relative to normal nasopharyngeal epithelial cells. They assembled the full-length cDNA, designated NOR1, and found that it encodes a deduced 421-amino acid protein with a predicted molecular mass of 48 kD.
The protein contains an oxidored-nitro domain, 2 cAMP and cGMP-dependent protein kinase phosphorylation sites, 5 casein kinase II phosphorylation sites, and 4 N-myristoylation sites. Northern blot analysis detected ubiquitous expression of 1.2- and 1.6-kb transcripts, with highest expression in skeletal muscle and heart.Nie et al. (2003) determined that the NOR1 gene contains 10 exons and spans 33.4 kb.
