Ovarian Fibroblast Cells

Ovarian Fibroblasts (OF)

Ovarian fibroblasts (NF) are fusiform, cords like, triangular, polyangular and irregular cells. Most of them contain Pseudopods-like structure. The NF shows positive staining for vimentin, fibroblast specific protein-1, desmin and α-smooth muscle actin; negative staining for cytokeratin pan, cytokeratin 7, cytokeratin 20,, CD31,CD90, MMP-2 etc..

Studies show that WNT16B secretion from ovarian fibroblasts can be induced by DNA damage-associated treatment. WNT16B triggers canonical β-catenin signalling in DCs and induces characteristic cytokine secretion of DCs, which can regulate Tregs differentiation. Ovary fibroblasts can be induced by ovarian carcinoma cells and activation, secretion of a variety of growth factors, chemokines factor, collagen, matrix modified enzyme so as to establish the tumorigenicity and lead to tumor progression and metastasis of anti immunogenicity of niche. Cultured human ovarian fibroblasts provide a tool for further studies on ovarian cancer and carcinoma associated fibroblasts.
