Pancreatic Fibroblasts (PNF)

Pancreatic Fibroblasts (PNF)

Pancreatic Fibroblasts(PNF) are prominent cellular component of the pancreatic stroma. . chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer are characterized by dense fibrosis throughout the organ, so the study of PNF is crucial for pancreatic diseases. Numerous studies have identified tumor-supporting roles for PNF, such as promoting immunosuppression supporting tumor metabolism, and facilitating chemoresistance. However, recent data has also identified tumor-suppressive functions within the stroma. These seemingly contradictory findings may relate to the heterogeneity of PNF.
