Proline Rich G Carboxyglutamic Acid 4 (PRRG4)
PRRG4 transcript that was highly expressed in placenta, liver, and kidney. Little to no expression was detected in other tissues examined. he cDNA encodes a deduced 227-amino acid protein with 2 tandem polyadenylation sequences. TMG4 contains an N-terminal signal sequence followed by a propeptide sequence, and cleavage of the propeptide results in a mature 177-amino acid protein with 9 potential Gla residues followed by a transmembrane domain and a cytosolic C-terminal domain. The cytosolic domain contains a PPxY motif that is predicted to interact with WW domain-containing proteins, and a PxxP motif predicted to interact with Src homology domains. PCR analysis detected variable PRRG4 expression that was significantly increased in adult tissues relative to their fetal counterparts.
