RAB3A Interacting Protein Like Protein 1 (RAB3IL1)

Guanine nucleotide exchange factor for Rab-3A

RAB3A Interacting Protein Like Protein 1 (RAB3IL1)
RAB3IL1 is well expressed, 0.7 times the average gene in this release. RAB3IL1 contains 14 different gt-ag introns. Transcription produces 6 alternatively spliced mRNAs. There are 4 probable alternative promotors and 4 validated alternative polyadenylation sites. The mRNAs appear to differ by truncation of the 5' end, presence or absence of 3 cassette exons, overlapping exons with different boundaries. The 6 spliced mRNAs putatively encode good proteins, altogether 6 different isoforms (2 complete, 3 COOH complete, 1 partial), some containing GDPGTP exchange factor Sec2p domain, a second peroximal domain, a coiled coil stretch. There is one article specifically referring to this gene in PubMed. Proteins are expected to localize in nucleus. Putative protein interactors have been described (NUDT18, RAB3A, RAB3IL1, RAB3IP, RAB11A).
