Ring Finger Protein 207 (RNF207)

Ring Finger Protein 207 (RNF207)
RNF207 Contains 1 B box-type zinc finger.Contains 1 RING-type zinc finger.Genetic variation in RNF207 may influence the duration of QT interval, a mesure of cardiac repolarization that depends on multiple environmental and genetic contributors. Prolonged or shortened QT intervals predisposes to ventricular arrhythmias and are a risk factor for sudden cardiac death.
Amotif present in a variety of functionally distinct proteins and known to be involved in protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions. Lacks the His residue in the RING-type domain 2 that is one of the conserved features of the family. A RING (Really Interesting New Gene) finger domain is a protein structural domain of zinc finger type which contains a Cys3HisCys4 amino acid motif which binds two zinc cations.
