Transmembrane Protein 113 (TMEM113)

WDR82; WDR82A; SWD2; WD Repeat Domain 82

Transmembrane Protein 113 (TMEM113)
TMEM113 (WDR82) is a component of the mammalian SET1A/SET1B histone H3-Lys4 methyltransferase complexes . The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the TMEM113 gene to chromosome 3.
Scott (2007) mapped the TMEM113 gene to 3p21.1 based on an alignment of the TMEM113 sequence with genomic sequence (build 36.2).
A transmembrane protein is a protein that spans the entire biological membrane. Transmembrane proteins aggregate and precipitate in water. They require detergents or nonpolar solvents for extraction, although some of them (beta-barrels) can be also extracted using denaturing agents.
