Mature Oligodendrocytes Transmembrane Protein (MOLT)

TMEM132D; HBE120; Transmembrane Protein 132D

Mature Oligodendrocytes Transmembrane Protein (MOLT)
The deduced 1,099-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of about 130 kD and contains an N-terminal hydrophobic signal peptide, 7 predicted N-glycosylation sites, 2 predicted O-glycosylation sites, a number of phosphorylation sites, and a C-terminal transmembrane domain. TMEM132D shares 83.4% and 83.2% amino acid identities with the rat and mouse homologs, respectively. Northern blot analysis of human tissues detected high TMEM132D expression in brain and lower expression in lung, pancreas, and testis.RT-PCR ELISA detected moderate expression in adult and fetal brain only, with highest expression in caudate nucleus and lower expression in amygdala, corpus callosum, hippocampus, substantia nigra, subthalamic nucleus, and thalamus.
