Zinc Finger Protein 185 (ZNF185)

P1-A; LIM domain protein ZNF185

Zinc Finger Protein 185 (ZNF185)
The ZNF185 protein shares 54% sequence identity with mouse Znf185. Northern blot analysis revealed expression of a 4.4-kb transcript in human adult prostate, testis, ovary, placenta, and peripheral blood as well as in embryonic kidney. In situ hybridization of mouse embryos revealed tissue- and stage-specific expression of Znf185, especially in differentiating connective tissue. The amount of ZNF185 transcript clearly varied among lung cancer cell lines and severely reduced levels were observed in BRG1-deficient cells, except A427 cells. In lung primary tumours, real-time RT-PCR revealed that 14 of 27 tumors had ZNF185 downregulation, respectively, when compared with normal lung. No significant correlation between reduced levels of BRG1 and ZNF185 was observed.
