Zinc Finger Protein 267 (ZNF267)
Zinc finger proteins have been shown to interact with nucleic acids and to have diverse functions.Kruppel-related proteins form 1 family of zinc finger proteins. The partial ZNF267 cDNA contains almost an entire coding sequence, being only minimally incomplete at the 5-prime end. The predicted ZNF267 protein, which is composed of more than 733 amino acids, contains a nearly complete N-terminal KRAB domain, with both A and B boxes; a spacer region that is distantly related to the spacer regions of ZNF91 subfamily members; and a clustered zinc finger domain consisting of 1 zinc finger motif, followed by 3 degenerate fingers in which the zinc-binding ability has probably been lost, followed by 13 canonical zinc finger motifs. Northern blot analysis detected a major 4.0-kb ZNF267 transcript in HeLa cells, U-937 cells, and PMA-induced U-937 cells.
