Zinc Finger Protein 273 (ZNF273)

HZF9

Zinc Finger Protein 273 (ZNF273)
ZNF273 is a member of the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family and encodes a protein with 13 C2H2-type zinc fingers and a KRAB domain. This nuclear protein is involved in transcriptional regulation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
The partial ZNF273 cDNA, which lacks 5-prime coding sequence, encodes 3 functional C-terminal zinc finger domains, followed by 1 degenerate finger motif, then 4 functional fingers, and finally 1 degenerate motif. Northern blot analysis detected a major 8.0-kb ZNF273 transcript in HeLa cells, U-937 cells, and PMA-induced U-937 cells, with higher expression in the monocyte/macrophage lineages and upregulation by PMA.
