Zinc Finger Protein 592 (ZNF592)

Zinc Finger Protein 592 (ZNF592)
ZNF592 contains 13 C2H2 zinc finger domains, and they found ubiquitous expression of ZNF592 in all human adult tissues studied with high expression in skeletal muscle, followed by brain and skin, and very low levels in ovary, uterus, and salivary gland. ZNF592 was widely expressed in the brain, including the cerebellum and cerebellar vermis, with higher expression in the substantia nigra. ZNF592 was also expressed in human fetal tissue and very early in the mouse embryo.
The deduced 1,267-amino acid protein has a predicted C2H2 zinc finger and a heme-binding site similar to that of the cytochrome c family. Northern blot analysis detected ZNF592 expression in all tissues examined, with highest levels in heart and skeletal muscle.
